I'd like to consider myself a student for life, soaking every piece of insightful information I encounter.
My career focus began at the age of 12. I enrolled in a career development program for youth at a local ambulance service. I soon realized that my passion was in prehospital emergency medical care.
In 2004 I suffered a serious cardiac complication and was forced halt both my studies and my passion for ambulance work. I became a flight attendant and soon gained a reputation among supervisors and peers as an exceptional educator and recruiter for flight attendant candidates.
In 2007 I returned to ambulance work with the permission of my physician. I was named the 2008 Rookie of the Year in Kentucky's largest ambulance operation. In late 2008 I learned that a new, more serious cardiac complication had arisen and my return to ambulance work would never again be possible.
I am again in college. I never fail to recognize how precious life can be. I do not accept failure.
